The Fleming Collection and Scotland House London are delighted to invite you to an event celebrating the announcement of the inaugural Emerging Scottish Artist of the Year Award.
When: 6.00 – 7.00 pm, Wednesday 3rd February
On the advice of the Fleming Collection, Scotland House London has chosen the work of an emerging Scottish artist to hang for a year as part of a new award in support of contemporary Scottish talent. This year’s winner is Brandon Logan, a graduate from Edinburgh College of Art who has recently shown work in the Royal Scottish Academy’s ‘New Contemporaries’ exhibition. Logan creates abstract wall hangings that explore broad themes of time, labour and tradition in the context of his place of birth, Orkney.
The Fleming Collection considered the finest collection of Scottish art outside public institutions, is owned by the Fleming-Wyfold Art Foundation, which furthers an understanding and awareness of Scottish art and creativity through exhibitions, events, publishing and education with an emphasis placed on initiatives outside Scotland.
Please join the webinar to hear the artist in conversation with James Knox, Director of the Fleming Collection, and to see some of his artwork.
